Lets Compare Scars

“Let’s Compare Scars” is a book that I was unable to put down!  I do not envy Dr. Allen because year after year he has been exposed to witnessing horrible but true situations in people’s lives and then expected to fix them.  “Let’s Compare Scars” was very educational, objectionable and explained what causes people to create awful tragedies.  Since he himself had experienced a number of personal tragedies, it helped him relate to the tragedies of others and recognized their causes.  While reading this book, there was a school shooting in the county where I had lived killing at least 17 children.  I now have a better understanding of what motivated the killer.   Dr. Allen instructs people how to get over their tragedies and move on in life.   The book is a “must read” for people who desire to understand human behavior.   J.Powell

Dr. Allen has profound biblical insights into healing our scars. “Let’s Compare Scars” will bring us hope, courage, and strength to our personal journey with Christ. We cannot move forward until we resolve our past by “crossing over” our Jabbok. I found myself reading a number of chapters a few times over as I am sure you will too.    Robert Birnbaum

This book has not only shown me how scars change every aspect of our lives but most importantly, understanding without resolving issues from these scars we not only suffer whether silently or outwardly potentially scaring others. In my case, I realized one of the most driving forces in my life was from an emotional scar I never realized.  Reading this book is like having your personal counseling session. K Hodge

This book acts more like a personal mentor and healer than it does as a standard book. The book seems to evolve every time you read it.  Somehow it senses your current concerns and problems and addresses them as if you are talking to a live person. It reacts to your current pains, emotions and tragedies and somehow by re-reading the same words you read before you find the new and appropriate meaning for the here and now, for the current pain and need. I felt Like I was in a Harry Potter movie where the books and pictures interacted with me and my current situation. In short, it is magical and miraculous and no one should be without it.  It belongs in every home, just like a first aid kit.  Tell all your friends and loved ones about this book.  Louis Monsour
